Pure Flow™ Vision

The art of teaching yoga requires sensitivity, compassion and understanding, as well as lots of practice, technical and therapeutic knowledge. Pure Flow™ teacher training program is designed for your own essence to radiate through, to communicate your own voice and expression of yoga naturally and with ease. To that intent, it is important as you read this, for you to explore the power of this modality. One must become free of the ego’s attachment of “Am I good enough to teach?” Yes, you are! If you truly care to give, to serve, to inspire yourself and others, you are indeed a strong candidate for teacher’s training. It’s about the joy of learning, not intimidation. Pure Flow’s teacher training program is carefully designed to inspire you and allow you to open to your full potential. Welcome!

Pure Flow™ 200 hour teacher training offers something different from all the other programs out there. This training is unique, like you. Every yoga practitioner is different and arrives on the mat with a distinctive set of strengths, challenges, and goals. Because there is no cookie-cutter yogi, there can be no one-size-fits-all approach to the sacred art of teaching yoga. Under the expert guidance of Elinore Cohen (E-RYT 500), you will find your individual gift, discover that the teacher is already inside you, and lay the foundation for that teacher to emerge.

As a student of this program, you will participate in class meetings, intense but fun practices, and lectures that are structurally similar to other programs. You will study the Sutras, integrate the knowledge of functional anatomy into your practice, and have the assurance of completing a program that is registered with Yoga Alliance. Weekends are broken down into categories of asana, such as standing poses, inversions, backbends, twists, hip openers, and the subtle body, to name just a few.

But there is so much more than the industry standard with the Pure Flow teacher training program. There is extensive time for practice teaching and individual feedback. Hours are devoted to learning and practicing hands-on adjustments. There is also the sense of community within the training, and the joy that comes from surrounding yourself with like-minded practitioners who care about your progress and want to see you “blossom,” whether your goal is to teach yoga or to advance and deepen your practice.

Pure Flow™ 200hr Teacher Training Participants Will Be Trained In:

  • Intensive, alignment-based yoga asana practice and study.
  • Yoga specific anatomy and physiology (movement anatomy).
  • Principles of “Vinyasa Flow” (creating intelligent flow sequences which link movement with breath).
  • Principles of pranayama.
  • The yoga sutras and yoga philosophy (history of yoga).
  • Yoga philosophy and ancient texts and teachings.
  • Subtle anatomy including chakras and koshas.

It’s time to transform your yoga practice…and your life!

What about books? Are they included in the training price?

You will receive two very detailed student manuals which are included in the training price. Homework assignments are given weekly and will require reading from other books selected by your teacher, but it may not be necessary for you to purchase all of them. We have found that our trainees are happy to share many of their materials; the local library has all of them as well

How will I know if I’m accepted?

The first step to acceptance is always a conversation. Depending on your current relationship with our studio, your acceptance could be immediate and in-person. If you are unfamiliar with Pure Flow™ teacher training program, you may wish to get on the phone, or begin an email dialogue, with one of our staff to discuss the general requirements, then come to a class led by your teacher, and go from there. We are open to everyone who has an open heart!

Do I have to be an advanced yogi to enter Pure Flow™ Teacher Training?

No! Remember, Pure Flow™ teacher training program is for practitioners who wish to deepen their practice, as well as for those who wish to teach someday. If you have a regular yoga practice and possess the maturity required to delve deeply into a physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual learning experience, this program is for you! Please feel free to speak with us if you have any concerns about your own readiness.

How many students participate in each training?

We keep it small in order to foster individual attention. You will become a close-knit group of loving yogis!

What if I miss a class?

Not to worry. While we would like you to be present for every session of your training, we understand that everyone has a life, three months contain a lot of weekends, and sometimes it’s impossible to be at every meeting. Just be up front about absences with your teacher. Usually you will just make up the missed portion of your training in a subsequent series-training program. Your eligibility to register with Yoga Alliance may be delayed, but it’s nothing serious.

How long does the homework take?

It takes as long as it takes… Enjoy the reading and writing processes. Your completion of the assignments (which are thoughtfully designed by your teacher to align with the progression of the program) is necessary for your eventual certification. There is no letter grading, so there is no need to stress about making your writing perfect. Just make it thoughtful.

Will I be ready to teach yoga once I complete the 200 hour teacher training program?

Most definitely. Every one of our graduates has been amazed at their readiness to teach this sacred practice to others once they finished the program! We have had several trainees who have gone through other, more widely known 200 hour programs, only to graduate without the confidence to teach. Once they came through Pure Flow™ teacher training program that was a different story…not only were they ready, but they LOVED teaching!

If the path of a yoga teacher is one you wish to walk, Pure Flow™ teacher training program is the bridge to lead you there! We welcome you and encourage you on this incredible journey to sharing your gifts and talents with your community! Namaste!
